RAINSTORM SWEAR BY DOC
HOLLYWOOD -- Rainstorm Entertainment will finance and produce a doc about
the word "fuck," one that will focus on how it originated and
on its comedic but sometimes shocking cultural context.
Steve Anderson, who made his feature bow with Rainstorm's "The Big
Empty," starring Jon Favreau, will direct. Production is scheduled
to start in January. Artisan Entertainment will release "The Big
Empty," which co-stars Rachael Leigh Cook, Kelsey Grammer, Daryl
Hannah, Sean Bean, Jon Gries, Adam Beach, Joey Lauren Adams and Bud Cort.
The film was to world preem at the AFI Fest on Sunday as part of the
American Directions section. Artisan will release the film in select
cities Nov. 21.
Anderson, who won a Peabody as a cameraman, has shot seven docs for PBS.
Rainstorm is a privately financed development and production company
launched last year by Steven Kaplan, Gregg Daniel and Richard Katz.
